Grimbergen Double Ambrée is an authentic and savoury abbey beer, renowned for its unique well-balanced contrast between spicy and fruity notes. ASPECT: Dark mahogany colour, clear and a dense long lasting foam with a unique creamy coffee colour NOSE: Strong fragrances of caramel and liquorice blend with the more subtle smells of red fruits, prunes and roasted malt. IN THE MOUTH: Full bodied beer with a pronounced bitterness. In addition to the dominant liquorice and caramel there are aromas of roasted malt, bitter orange, ripe fruit and macerated prunes. AFTERTASTE: Persistence of roasted malt, liquorice and prunes. The caramelized sugar syrup that produces the colour gives this beer a prune-like fruitiness and light bitterness
